Plagiarism Policy
The International Journal of Multidisciplinary Engineering Research and Technology (IJMERT) is committed to maintaining academic integrity and ensuring that all published research meets appropriate standards of originality and ethical conduct. Authors are expected to submit manuscripts that represent their own work and to acknowledge all sources of information, ideas, data and materials used in their research.
Originality of Manuscripts
Manuscripts submitted to IJMERT must be original and must not have been published previously or be under consideration for publication elsewhere. Submission of the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time is not permitted.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that the submitted manuscript accurately represents their research and intellectual contribution.
Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the use of another person's words, ideas, data, figures, results or other intellectual work without appropriate acknowledgement. This includes direct copying, substantial unattributed paraphrasing and presenting another person's work as one's own.
All sources used in the preparation of a manuscript should be appropriately cited and included in the reference list.
Similarity Checking
IJMERT may conduct plagiarism or similarity checks on submitted manuscripts as part of the editorial assessment process. The editorial team may request clarification from the authors when substantial or inappropriate similarities are identified.
A similarity report is considered together with the context of the identified matches. Legitimate quotations, references, commonly used technical terminology and standard expressions may contribute to similarity scores and will be assessed appropriately.
Self Plagiarism and Duplicate Publication
Authors should avoid unnecessary reuse of substantial portions of their previously published work. If previously published material is used, it must be appropriately acknowledged and cited.
Authors must also ensure that a manuscript submitted to IJMERT is not simultaneously under consideration by another journal.
Author Responsibility
Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality and academic integrity of their manuscripts. They must properly acknowledge the contributions of other researchers and provide accurate references for all sources used.
Where copyrighted material, figures, tables or other published content is reproduced, authors are responsible for obtaining the necessary permissions and providing appropriate acknowledgement.
Action in Cases of Plagiarism
If plagiarism or other forms of academic misconduct are identified before publication, IJMERT may request an explanation or clarification from the authors. Depending on the nature and seriousness of the concern, the manuscript may be returned for correction or rejected.
If plagiarism is identified after publication, the journal will assess the matter and may take appropriate action. Such action may include publishing a correction or editorial notice, contacting the authors' institution where appropriate, or retracting the published article in serious cases.
Research Integrity
IJMERT expects authors, reviewers and editors to maintain high standards of research integrity throughout the submission, peer review and publication process. Concerns regarding plagiarism, duplicate publication or other forms of academic misconduct will be considered carefully by the editorial team.
The journal reserves the right to take appropriate editorial action when a violation of publication ethics or research integrity is established.
