Complaints and Appeals
The International Journal of Multidisciplinary Engineering Research and Technology (IJMERT) is committed to handling complaints and appeals fairly, transparently and promptly. The journal welcomes legitimate concerns relating to the editorial, peer review and publication processes.
Complaints
Authors, reviewers and readers may submit a complaint concerning an aspect of the journal's editorial or publication process. Complaints should be submitted to the journal through the official contact details provided on the journal website.
Complaints should include sufficient information to allow the editorial team to understand the matter and, where possible, should include the relevant manuscript or article details.
Editorial Decisions
Authors who believe that an editorial decision has been made in error may request reconsideration by providing a clear explanation and relevant evidence supporting their appeal.
An appeal should address specific concerns regarding the editorial decision rather than simply disagreeing with the outcome.
Appeal Process
Appeals will be considered by the editor or an appropriate member of the editorial team who was not directly involved in the original decision, where reasonably possible.
The journal may seek additional expert advice when necessary to evaluate an appeal fairly.
An appeal may result in the original decision being upheld, reconsidered or, where appropriate, referred for further review.
Reviewer Confidentiality
The journal will respect the confidentiality of peer reviewers. Information about reviewers will not normally be disclosed to authors as part of the complaints or appeals process.
Research Integrity Concerns
Complaints involving plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, authorship disputes, ethical approval, conflicts of interest or other research integrity concerns will be considered in accordance with the journal's relevant policies.
Where necessary, the journal may request additional information from authors, reviewers, institutions or other relevant parties.
Fair and Respectful Communication
All complaints and appeals should be communicated professionally and respectfully. The journal will consider concerns objectively and will not tolerate abusive, threatening or discriminatory communication.
Final Decision
The journal will communicate the outcome of a complaint or appeal to the relevant person when the assessment has been completed. Decisions made following an appropriate appeal process will normally be considered final.
