Peer Review Process

The International Journal of Multidisciplinary Engineering Research and Technology (IJMERT) follows a structured peer review process to assess the academic quality, originality, relevance and methodological soundness of submitted manuscripts.

Initial Editorial Assessment

All submitted manuscripts are first examined by the editorial team to determine whether they are within the scope of the journal and meet the basic requirements for scholarly publication.

The editorial team may return a manuscript to the authors if it does not meet the journal's submission requirements or falls outside the scope of IJMERT.

Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial assessment may be sent for peer review by qualified reviewers with relevant subject expertise.

IJMERT normally follows a double anonymised peer review process, in which the identities of the authors and reviewers are not disclosed to each other during the review process.

Reviewer Evaluation

Reviewers are requested to evaluate manuscripts objectively and provide constructive comments on aspects such as originality, methodology, analysis, results, discussion, references, presentation and overall academic contribution.

Reviewers are also expected to maintain confidentiality and disclose any potential conflict of interest.

Editorial Decision

Based on the reviewers' comments and the editor's assessment, a manuscript may receive one of the following decisions:

  • Accept
  • Minor Revision
  • Major Revision
  • Reject

The editor may request revisions when necessary. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the reviewers for further evaluation.

Revision

Authors receiving a revision decision should carefully address the reviewers' and editor's comments and submit a revised manuscript within the specified period.

Authors should provide a clear response explaining how each significant comment has been addressed.

Final Decision and Publication

The final publication decision is made by the editor after considering the peer review reports, the quality of the revised manuscript and the overall suitability of the work for publication.

Accepted manuscripts proceed to the copyediting, production and publication stages.

Confidentiality

All manuscripts and peer review reports are treated confidentially throughout the editorial and review process. Reviewers must not share, reproduce or use unpublished information from manuscripts under review.
